(Qafco) has signed a letter of intent with a consortium of Snamprogetti and Hyundai for construction of Qafco’s previously announced fifth fertilizer complex at Mesaieed, Qatar. The complex, dubbed Qafco-5, will cost an estimated $3.2 billion. Industries Qatar (Doha) owns 75% of Qafco, and Yara International holds the rest. Enger: Investment costs are higher than before.
