Regions :: Middle East :: Qatar Saipem Awarded Urea Plant Contract in Qatar10:55 AM MDT | October 14, 2009 | Natasha Alperowicz A consortium of Saipem (Milan) and Hyundai Engineering & Construction (Seoul) has been awarded a $610-million lump sum turnkey contract to supply a previously announced urea manufacturing complex for Qatar Fertilizer Co. (Qafco; Doha). The complex, Qafco VI, will be built at Qafco's Mesaieed, Qatar manufacturing site and will be designed to produce 3,850 m.t./day of urea. Completion is scheduled for the third quarter of 2012. Qafco VI will use Saipem's technology. Saipem, the leader of the consortium, will provide the license...
