Qatar Petroleum signs agreement for Ras Laffan butadiene-elastomer project

Qatar Petroleum (QP; Doha) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Zeon Corp. (Tokyo) and Mitsui & Co. for the development of an integrated world-scale butadiene extraction and synthetic rubber-elastomer complex at Ras Laffan, Qatar, QP has announced. The partners, under the agreement, will carry out a detailed feasibility study to evaluate the technical, commercial, and economic aspects of the butadiene and rubber-elastomer project. C4 feedstock will come from the planned Al Sejeel Petrochemicals Complex and the Al Karaana Petrochemicals...
