(RLOC), a joint venture in which Qatofin has 45.7%, Q-Chem 2 53.3%, and Qatar Petroleum (QP) 1%, has begun the process of starting up a 1.3-million m.t./year ethylene plant at Ras Laffan, Qatar. "We have received ethane from QP and are planning to begin production on December 24 with on-spec, polymer-grade ethylene expected in the first week of January," says Jean-Pierre Bourliot, project manager at RLOC.
