Regions :: Middle East :: Qatar Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to Build CO2 Recovery Plant for Qafac in Qatar3:10 AM MDT | March 15, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI; Tokyo) says its MHI Industrial Engineering & Services (MIES; Singapore) subsidiary has received an order from Qatar Fuel Additives Co. (Qafac; Doha), to build a large-scale carbon dioxide (CO2) recovery plant at Qafac’s methanol production site near Doha. Qafac produces methanol and methyl tert -butyl ether (MTBE). The CO2, recovered at up to 500 m.t./day, will be used to increase the production of methanol, MHI says.
