Chiyoda and CTCI awarded $600-million contract for refinery in Qatar

Chiyoda and CTCI (Taipei) have been awarded an engineering, procurement, supply, construction, and commissioning contract for a previously announced Laffan 2 refinery at Ras Laffan, Qatar. The facility is being built by Laffan Refinery Co. Ltd. 2, a jv in which Qatar Petroleum has an 84% stake. The contract, valued approximately $600 million, covers the construction of a 146,000-bbl/day condensate refinery on a lump-sum basis. Completion is scheduled for 2016. Products from the refinery, including naphtha, gas oil, propane, and butane will be sold...
