Oman plans steam cracker and polyethylene plant at Ṣuḥār

Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co. (Orpic; Muscat) plans to build an olefins complex and a polyethylene plant at the Port of Ṣuḥār, Oman at a cost of about $3 billion, according to the Oman Daily Observer. With investments previously announced, including a major upgrade of Orpic’s existing refinery at Sohar and construction of a pipeline project linking Ṣuḥār with Mina Al Fahal, Oman, refineries, investments will reach about $5 billion.
