Oman Oil completes acquisition of Oxea

Oman Oil Co. (OOC; Muscat), which is owned by the government of Oman, says it has completed the previously announced acquisition of Oxea (Oberhausen, Germany) from private equity owners Advent International (Boston). Financial details were not disclosed. Oxea generated sales of about €1.5 billion ($2.05 billion) in 2012 and employs about 1,406 people worldwide. Plans for the acquisition were first announced last October. Oxea makes oxo intermediates and oxo derivatives, such as alcohols, polyols, carboxylic acids, specialty esters, and amines.
