Petchems capacity in GCC region set to rise by 7%/year

Petrochemicals capacity in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, which includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, increased by 5.5% in 2012, according to the latest report from the Gulf Petrochemical and Chemical Association (GPCA; Dubai). Capacity grew to 127.8 million m.t./year in 2012, up from 121.1 million m.t./year in the year-earlier period.
