Regions :: Middle East :: Oman EU Drops PET Antidumping Probe Against Sabic and Octal3:37 AM MST | December 21, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz The European Union (EU) has terminated an antidumping and anti-subsidy probe on imports of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) products from Oman and Saudi Arabia, following the withdrawal of a complaint by the Committee of PET Manufacturers in Europe, according to notice posted on the European Commission’s website. The complaint, lodged in January this year, accused Octal (Muscat), a major producer of PET, and Sabic of receiving subsidies from their respective governments, which allowed the two firms to sell PET in the European market at a lower price...
