Report: Kuwait's Olefins III project estimated to cost $8–9 billion

Kuwait’s previously announced Olefins III project is expected to require an investment of $8–9 billion, according to a report from state news agency Kuna. Preparations for implementation of the project at Al Zour are ongoing. State-run Petrochemical Industries Co. (PIC; Kuwait City) is still assessing which international partners will take part in development of the project, the report says. PIC is seeking land to build the complex near to a refinery being constructed at Al-Aḥmadī, Kuwait. The Olefins III project is scheduled to start up in 2016...
