Equate Shuts Down Ethylene Glycol Plant for Six Weeks Following a Fire

Equate Petrochemical Co., said today that it has shutdown one of its ethylene glycol units with a total capacity of 550,000 m.t./year. “The shutdown will be for approximately six weeks as a result of the fire that took place on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Production operations of other units are unaffected and ongoing,” the company said in a statement.
