Regions :: Middle East :: Kuwait Construction Begins on Sinopec-Kuwait Petrochemical Project11:49 AM MST | November 23, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Sinopec says that a groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 18 for the previously announced Sino-Kuwait Guangdong Integrated Refinery & Petrochemical JV Project, a joint venture between Sinopec and Kuwait Petroleum, at Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, China. The project is expected to cost about Rmb59 billion ($9.3 billion). The jv's refinery will have a throughput of 300,000 bbl/day and the petrochemical complex will include a 1-million m.t./year ethylene plant.
