Israel Chemicals Second-Quarter Profits Soar

Israel Chemicals Ltd. (ICL; Tel Aviv) has reported a 445% increase in net profits to $703.2 million for the second quarter ended June 30. And sales for the period increased by 116% to $2.07 billion. The rise in sales was driven by ICL Fertilizers business segment, which is benefiting from the continued rise in demand and prices of potash and phosphate fertilizers, ICL says.
