Iran lifts export ban on certain chemicals and plastics

The Iranian government has lifted a ban on exports of certain chemicals and plastics, after including the products in a list, announced last week, of 50 items that are banned for shipment overseas. Iran's Mehr News Agency reported today that Iranian oil minister Rostam Qasemi has exempted benzene, caustic soda, linear alkylbenzene, melamine, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, and styrene from the list. Exports of the products are likely to resume by 10 November, sources say. The reasons for lifting the ban were not disclosed, but exports of chemicals and plastics...
