Regions :: Middle East Sahara Petrochemical Co., Takes Al Waha's PP Complex Offline Due to Technical Fault4:21 AM MDT | July 18, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Sahara Petrochemical Co., says its Jubail, Saudi Arabia based Al Waha, joint venture, had to take its entire complex offline on Saturday July 16, due to a technical fault in the effluent recycling compressor. Al Waha, a joint venture in which Sahara has 75% and LyondellBasell 25%, anticipates repairs to be completed within two weeks. The interruption will lead to a 16,000 m.t. shortfall in the production of polypropylene (PP), equivalent to SR94 million ($25.1 million) at current PP prices.
