Regions :: Middle East Sabic to Build Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene Plant2:05 AM MDT | June 27, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz Jacobs Engineering has been awarded a design contract from Saudi Kayan, a Sabic affiliate, to develop a process design and front end engineering design package for an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) plant to be constructed at Kayan’s manufacturing complex at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The contract will be executed from Jacobs' Winnersh, U.K. and Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia offices. The plant will have production capacity of 35,000 m.t./year and use ethylene feedstock from Kayan's existing olefins plant. Sabic will use its own process...
