Regions :: Middle East Sabic, Ma’aden JV Awards Contract for Ammonia Plant8:37 AM MDT | October 22, 2007 | Kerri Walsh Ma’aden Riyady, Saudi Arabia has awarded Samung Engineering (Seoul) a $950-million contract to build an ammonia plant at Al-Jalamid, Saudi Arabia. Samsung Engineering has commissioned Uhde to provide the license and engineering, and supply services. The ammonia plant will be part of a SR13-billion ($3.47 billion) joint venture fertilizer complex at Al-Jalamid between Ma’aden and Sabic. The complex will consist of a phosphate mine and processing plant, and a phosphate fertilizer production complex at Ras Az Zawr, Ma’aden says. Ma’aden will hold a 70% stake...
