Rising Tin Costs Force Supplier Price Hikes

Several suppliers say that higher tin metal costs are forcing increases in certain chemical products. Chemtura says it has raised prices for its organotin stabilizers by 12% in North America and Latin America, effective immediately or as contracts allow. The hike is in response to “the recent unexpected tight supply and the dramatic run-up of tin-metal costs over the last 12 months, especially in the last two months,” Chemtura says.
