Mitsubishi Corp., MHI, and Turkish firm awarded contracts for largest fertilizer plant in Turkmenistan

Mitsubishi Corp. (Tokyo), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI; Tokyo), and Turkish construction firm Gap Insaat (Istanbul) will build a large-scale fertilizer manufacturing complex for Turkmenhimiya, a state-owned chemical company in Turkmenistan. The fertilizer complex will be built at Garabogaz, a city on the coast of the Caspian Sea in the northwest of the country. The fertilizer plant will be the largest such plant in the country, and the contracts are valued at about $1.3 billion, Mitsubishi Corp. says. The manufacturing complex will consist of a 2,000-m.t./day...
