Regions :: Middle East Ma'aden Begins Exporting Ammonia from New Saudi Fertilizer Complex3:21 AM MST | March 9, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Ma'aden Phosphate Co. has begun shipping ammonia from a newly completed complex at Ras Az Zawr on the Arabian Gulf coast in Saudi Arabia. The 1.1 million m.t./year ammonia complex started production last month. Most of its output will be used in a downstream 2.92 million m.t./year di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) plant, which is scheduled onstream in the second quarter of this year. Ma'aden will have 440,000 m.t./year of excess ammonia for sale on the international markets. Sabic, a joint venture partner in the project, is responsible for marketing. The complex will...
