Iran to set up petchems hub at Chahbahar, exports to rise this year

Iran has confirmed previously announced plans to set up a new petrochemicals hub at Chahbahar, on the coast on the Gulf of Oman, and said it will soon become the biggest petrochemicals producer in the Mideast, ahead of Saudi Arabia, the current leader in the region. “We intend to launch new petrochemical hubs, particularly at the Chahbahar special economic zone,” Abdolhossein Bayat, managing director of the National Petrochemical Co.
