Regions :: Middle East Cristal Global Back Integrates to Ilmenite Processing, Builds Big Smelter5:35 AM MST | November 10, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Cristal Global (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia), a leading producer of titanium dioxide (TiO2), is investing an undisclosed sum in an ilmenite-processing plant at Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, close to its TiO2 manufacturing complex. The company has signed a letter of intent with technology firm Outotec (Espoo, Finland) to build a large complex, which will have initial capacity for 500,000 m.t./year of 85% TiO2 slag and 235,000 m.t./year of high purity pig iron, which will be produced as a by product.
