Kelco and Saudi firm sign MOU to build xanthan gum plant in Saudi Arabia

Basic Chemical Industries Co. (BCI; Ad Dammām, Saudi Arabia) said on Sunday that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with CP Kelco (Atlanta) to jointly build and operate a xanthan gum facility at Al Jubail. The plant will be designed to produce between 5,000 m.t./year and 10,000 m.t./year of xanthan gum, subject to further engineering studies.
