Water shortage prevents re-start of Zuari's fertilizer complex in Goa

Zuari Agro Chemicals (Goa) has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that it is unable to re-start its ammonia and urea facility following completion of a maintenance turnaround due to water shortage. The plant was taken offline on 25 March 2013 for an annual turnaround and could not be restarted as per the original plan because of “non-availability of water from the government of Goa,” the filing said. Zuari Agro Chemicals, part of the Adventz group, operates a plant in Goa, which produces ammonia, urea, di-ammonium phosphate and NPK fertilizers...
