Tata Raises Funds for M&A and Expansions

Tata Chemicals Ltd. (TCL; Mumbai) has raised $100 million through a private placement in the U.S., and the funds are expected to be used for capacity expansions and acquisitions in India. “The private placement was led by Bank of America and proceeds will be used to fund the company’s organic and inorganic growth plans. We are considering increasing capacity of our urea manufacturing plant in Babrala, Uttar Pradesh,” R.
