Tata Chemicals Reports Rise in Profits and Sales

Tata Chemicals (Mumbai) recorded an 8% rise in net profits for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2011 to Rs6.53 billion ($145 million), compared with the previous fiscal year. Sales increased 16%, to Rs110.6 billion. Sales for the fiscal year at the company’s inorganic chemicals segment increased 0.5%, to about Rs54.2 billion, and sales at the company’s fertilizers segment increased 18%, to about Rs43 billion.
