Regions :: India/Pakistan Solvay to Acquire Surfactants Manufacturer in India8:38 AM MDT | September 13, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh Solvay says it has signed an agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Sunshield Chemicals (Mumbai), a company specializing in surfactants, from Amit Choksey Group. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Sunshield Chemicals, which is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (Mumbai), produces and exports surfactants, cross-linkers, and antioxidants. The company recorded sales of Rs943 million ($17 million) in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012. The acquisition is expected to be completed within three months.
