Shell puts refinery in Australia up for sale

Shell says that its Shell Australia (Melbourne) subsidiary has put its refinery at Geelong, Australia, up for sale. The proposed sale of the 120,000-bbl/day refinery is in line with Shell’s global strategy to concentrate investment on large-scale sites, such as the company’s world-scale Pulau Bukom refinery at Singapore, Shell says. Shell Geelong refinery is one of the largest of seven refineries in Australia, the company says. By my understanding Clyde refinery is no longer operational, since it had been converted to terminal in Sep 2012. Geelong is Shell's only still operational refinery in Australia.
