Regions :: India/Pakistan Orica Restarts Production of Nitric Acid and Ammonium Nitrate4:44 AM MST | December 13, 2011 | Deepti Ramesh Orica (Melbourne) says that, over the weekend, it has restarted some of the nitric acid and ammonium nitrate (AN) plants at the company’s Kooragang Island site in the state of New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Another leak at the site last week had forced the company to delay the restart of these plants. About 20,000 liters of AN fertilizer solution overflowed from a storage tank at the site on December 7. The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of NSW had on December 6 lifted certain prevention notices that were issued on Orica’s Kooragang Island...
