Japanese Firms Plan Rare Earths Project in India

Trading house Toyota Tsusho Corp. (Nagoya, Japan) and its Toyotsu Rare Earths Orissa subsidiary plan to build a rare earths processing plant in the state of Orissa, India. The project would be a partnership with Indian Rare Earths (IRE) and Shin-Etsu Chemical. It would be designed to "secure a stable supply of rare earth resources," Toyota Tsusho says.
