India advances nitrogen fertilizer plans in Assam

Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corp. Ltd. (BVFCL; Namrup, India) has partnered with Oil India and the Assam state government to construct a previously announced ammonia-urea complex at Namrup in the state of Assam, reports in India say. The facility will be designed to produce 864,000 m.t./year and cost 44 billion Indian rupees ($716.7 million) to build. Oil India is expected to have a 26% stake in the project and BVFCL and the state government 11% each.
