Regions :: India/Pakistan India Cuts Subsidy on Fertilizers8:09 AM MST | March 8, 2012 | Deepti Ramesh The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers (New Delhi) says that the Indian government has approved the proposal of the Department of Fertilizers to fix the rates of fertilizer nutrients, covered in the nutrient-based subsidy (NBS) policy, for the fiscal year starting April 1, 2012. At the rates announced, the total subsidy outgo for the phosphate and potash fertilizers for the next fiscal year would be reduced by more than 20%, the ministry says.
