Bayer MaterialScience Opens Polyisocyanate Plant in India

Bayer MaterialScience says it has opened its previously announced manufacturing facility for polyisocyanates at Ankleshwar, India, and the plant involved an investment of about €20 million ($27.6 million). Polyisocyanates are used as raw materials for the production of polyurethane coatings and adhesives, and with this new plant, the company wants to expand its business in India and to participate in the strong growth of this local market for coatings and adhesives, Bayer says.
