BASF opens global R&D center in India

BASF says it has today opened a new global R&D center at its Thane site in India. Thane is a satellite town of Mumbai. The center focuses on organic synthesis, advanced process and formulation research, discovery chemistry for modern agricultural solutions, and molecular modeling. The new R&D center involved an initial investment of €2 million ($2.76 million) and will accommodate more than 60 scientists in the first phase, BASF says.
