BASF appoints new managing director in Pakistan

Faisal Akhtar. BASF says that it appointed Faisal Akhtar as managing director of BASF Pakistan (Karachi) as well as BASF Chemicals & Polymers Pakistan (Karachi), effective 1 February. Akhtar succeeds Qazi Sajid Ali, who will retire on 31 March. Akhtar, prior to joining BASF, was general manager/chemicals business at ICI Pakistan. During his 23-year service in ICI Pakistan, Akhtar held several managerial positions in areas including new business development, strategic planning, and overall company management, BASF says.
