Uralkali withdraws from Belarus potash export cartel

Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia), a leading producer of potash, has decided to stop selling potash through Belarusian Potash Co. (BPC; Minsk), an export cartel jointly operated by Uralkali and another leading potash producer, Belaruskali (Soligorsk, Belarus), Uralkali announced today. The company says it has redirected sales of all potash export volumes to its trading arm, Uralkali Trading (Geneva). The decision was made at a board meeting on 29 July.
