Uralkali reports lower revenues, sees pickup in potash demand next year

Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia), a leading global producer of potash, today reported a 19% drop in third-quarter revenues, to $856 million, with net revenues down 21%, to $697 million. The domestic potash price dropped from $228/m.t. to $192/m.t., but the export price rose to $272/m.t. from $228/m.t. in the year-earlier quarter. The company produced 2.7 million m.t. of potassium chloride (KCl) during the quarter, 4% up on the third quarter of 2012.
