Uralkali CEO moved from Belarus jail, employees sign petition for his release

Vladislav Baumgertner, CEO of Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia), a leading potash producer embroiled in a dispute with the Belarus authorities, has been moved from a Minsk jail, where he was in detention, and is now under house arrest, his lawyer says. The switch signals that the row, sparked by the recent collapse of the Belarusian Potash Co. (BPC; Minsk) export cartel, may be nearing a resolution.
