Uralchem ups spending on capital projects

Uralchem (Moscow), a major fertilizer producer, said today that it had raised its investments by 5.5% last year, to $174 million. Of that total, 48% was spent on investment projects, 44% on equipment upgrades, and the rest on maintenance and repairs. The Kirovo-Chepetsk, Russia, complex absorbed $46 million, which was spent on facilities to make new products and on reconstruction of existing units to increase fertilizer capacity as well as of other chemical products.
