Stamicarbon, Haldor Topsøe to provide technology for fertilizer complex in Azerbaijan

Stamicarbon (Geleen, Netherlands) and Haldor Topsøe will provide their urea and ammonia technologies, respectively for a previously announced nitrogen fertilizer complex being built at Sumgait, Azerbaijan. The investor is the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (Socar) and the plants will be built at Socar subsidiary’s Azerikhimya site. Socar earlier this year awarded a $650-million contract to Samsung Engineering to build the complex.   The plants will have capacity for 1,200 m.t./day of ammonia and 2,000 m.t./day of urea and are due...
