Regions :: Eastern Europe :: Russia Sibur Acquires Russian Acrylic Acid and Esters Producer7:33 AM MDT | July 28, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Sibur has acquired JSC Acrylate (Dzerzhinsk, Russia), the only producer of acrylic acid and acrylic esters in the CIS, from Atek Group (Moscow). Acrylate’s production site is in the industrial area of Dzerzhinsk, Russia, close to Sibur’s cracker, which supplies propylene feedstock to Acrylate. The Dzerzhinsk plant is sub-scale by world standards with capacity for just 25,000 m.t./year of acrylic acid, 36,000 m.t./year of butyl acrylate, and 10,000 m.t./year of methyl and ethyl acrylate.
