Regions :: Eastern Europe :: Russia Samsung Engineering signs $650-million fertilizer plant contract in Azerbaijan9:40 AM MDT | March 18, 2013 | Natasha Alperowicz Samsung Engineering has signed a contract worth $650 million to build a nitrogen fertilizer complex for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (Socar; Baku). The contract, Samsung’s first in Azerbaijan, was signed by Socar’s CEO, Rovnag Abdullayev; and the president and CEO of Samsung Engineering, Park Ki-Seok. The complex will be located at Sumgait, Azerbaijan, and will produce ammonia and urea. It will be designed for 1,200 m.t./day of ammonia and 2,000 m.t./day of urea.
