Russian Antitrust Authority Approves Uralkali-Silvinit Merger

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation (FAS; Moscow), the country's antitrust authority, has approved the previously announced merger between Uralkali (Berezniki, Russia) and Silvinit (Solikamsk, Russia), the country's two biggest suppliers of potash. The deal takes the form of an acquisition by Uralkali of Silvinit. The approval was subject to several conditions.
