Russia cuts off gas supplies to Ukraine

Russia has cut off all natural gas supplies to Ukraine as the long-running dispute between the countries over gas prices, payments, and supplies continues. State-owned Gazprom (Moscow) says that, from today, it will supply state-owned Naftogaz (Kiev) only with gas that has been paid for. "In full compliance with the effective contract, Gazprom switched Naftogaz of Ukraine to a prepayment of gas supplies," Gazprom says.
