Nizhnekamskneftekhim beefs up isoprene monomer capacity

Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Nizhnekamsk, Russia), a leading petrochemicals producer, has completed construction of a new isoprene monomer line. The product is used as raw material in the production of isoprene rubber, the synthetic rubber most closely resembling natural rubber. The company last year produced 175,700 m.t. of isoprene and 253,000 m.t. of isoprene rubber. More than 75% of the isoprene rubber output was exported.
