Regions :: Eastern Europe :: Russia Lukoil launches Volgograd refinery upgrade project10:22 AM MDT | March 19, 2013 Lukoil (Moscow) says is is installing a vacuum gasoil (VGO) deep conversion unit at its Volgograd, Russia, refinery and has awarded the more than $1.4-billion turnkey contract to Técnicas Reunidas (Madrid). The project will allow the refinery to increase the output of Euro-5 diesel fuel by 1.8 million m.t./year. It includes 1 of the world’s largest VGO light hydrocracker units with capacity of 3.5 million m.t./year and up to 75% conversion ratio, a combined sulfur production unit, and hydrogen production facilities.
