Lanxess opens first production plant in Russia

Lanxess has opened its first production facility in Russia, the company says. Lanxess subsidiary Rhein Chemie is manufacturing polymer-bound rubber additives at the plant, located at Lipetsk, for markets in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, primarily for the automotive and tire industries. A production facility for bladders used in manufacturing tires is to be added in 2016. The overall investment in the plant amounts to a seven-digit euro figure, and 40 jobs will be created.
