Evonik signs agreement for amino acid jv in Russia

Evonik Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the regional government of Rostov, Russia, to form DonBioTech, a joint venture with Varshavsky Group (Moscow), to manufacture L-lysine at Volgodonsk, Russia, Evonik announced today. The jv was approved in the summer of 2012, as previously reported by CW.   The jv will use Evonik fermentation technology at the new plant to produce L-lysine.
