Regions :: Eastern Europe :: Russia Evonik and Sibur Study PO Plant in Russia9:32 AM MDT | March 28, 2008 | Nancy Seewald Evonik Industries and Sibur (Moscow) say they have agreed to launch a feasibility study for a joint venture project to build a propylene oxide (PO) plant and a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) unit to supply the Russian market. The study is scheduled for completion in the next few months to determine possible locations and size. The PO plant would use a hydrogen peroxide-to-propylene oxide (HPPO) technology developed by Evonik and Uhde that Evonik says produces PO from H2O2 and propylene at a low cost.
